A refreshing and tangy homemade lemonade perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water (for simple syrup)
  • 1 ½ cups fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 ½ cups of sugar with 1 ½ cups of water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves (about 5 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and allow the simple syrup to cool.
  4. Juice about 6 to 8 lemons until you have 1 ½ cups of fresh lemon juice.
  5. Combine the cooled simple syrup with the fresh lemon juice in a large pitcher.
  6. Add 4 cups of cold water and stir well.
  7. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness if needed.
