A fresh and elegant salad with butter lettuce, creamy avocado, peppery radishes, and a honey-lemon vinaigrette. Light, balanced, and easy to assemble for a sophisticated yet simple side dish.

Ingredients

Extra-virgin olive oil, ⅓ cup
Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons
Fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon
Honey, 2 teaspoons
Shallot, ½ medium, finely minced
Sea salt, ½ teaspoon
Butter lettuce, 1 head
Radishes, 4, thinly sliced
Avocado, 1, pitted and thinly sliced
Fresh chives, ¼ cup, minced
Freshly cracked black pepper, for serving

Instructions

Whisk olive oil, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, honey, minced shallot, and sea salt in a small bowl
Continue whisking until the mixture is fully emulsified and smooth
Remove butter lettuce leaves from the stem and gently rinse
Thinly slice radishes and avocado just before assembling
In a large bowl, toss lettuce with the dressing until evenly coated
Top with radishes and avocado slices
Sprinkle with freshly minced chives and a pinch of black pepper

Notes

For vegan option, substitute honey with 2 teaspoons maple syrup
Use lemon zest in addition to juice for extra brightness
Storage: Consume fresh; dressing can be refrigerated for up to 48 hours
For extra crunch, add watermelon radishes or jicama
